Switching from Android to iOS: Photos will arrive instantly

This new tool, discovered by the Data Transfer Initiative, allows Google Photos users to seamlessly transfer all their photo and video data to iCloud Photos. This feature is expected to be available within the next week.

Apple has already been allowing users to transfer their photos to Google Photos for a while. Now this process has been reversed. There are no prerequisites for transferring, other than having enough storage space in Google Photos. After the update to Google Photos, you will be able to instantly transfer all your photos and files to iCloud Photos with a single finger movement.

Supported file types include JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, AVIF and most RAW files, as well as video formats such as MP4, MOV, M4V, MPG, MKV. As long as your file formats are these, all your files will be transferred to iOS during the transition.

According to information from Google, it may take a week for the process to be completed and the update containing this feature to arrive. Finally, we should also note that child accounts, corporate accounts, or accounts with the Advanced Protection feature turned on are not included in this process.
