GÖKDEMİR is a brand new medium altitude air defense system developed with the knowledge and advanced technologies that ASELSAN has accumulated over the years. The project, carried out under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries, will strengthen Turkey’s layered air defense system with local and national means.

GÖKDEMİR has the capacity to neutralize many different air threats, from warplanes to unmanned aerial vehicles, from cruise missiles to helicopters.

GÖKDEMİR Launching System, ASELSAN’s previous projects HİSAR A+ and HİSAR O+ It will work fully compatible with the systems. In other words, it will create a wide air defense network and protect Turkey’s airspace with a steel dome.

Moreover, GÖKDEMİR, 360 degree threat destruction ability, multiple engagement And sequential firing abilities, Intermediate stage guidance via data link and has many more advanced technological features. GÖKDEMİR successfully completed its first firing test in June 2022. The system integrated into ASELSAN’s Fire Management Device will be fully operational in a short time. GÖKDEMİR, whose deployment preparation time is quite short, is ideal for situations that require quick reaction on the battlefield.

This new system of ASELSAN will increase Turkey’s air defense capacity many times and provide a strategic advantage in the region. As Haluk Görgün stated, GÖKDEMİR’s autonomous operation will offer a very important advantage on the battlefields of the future.
