At the Pixel 9 event, Google announced a new artificial intelligence-based rendering application called Pixel Studio. The company announced that the app will come pre-installed on every Pixel 9 device.
Pixel Studio, very similar to Apple’s Image Playground app that will be available in iOS 18, makes it possible to create an image from a command. Users can edit images later by using the command box to add or remove elements and change the feel or style of the image.
During the onstage demo, a bonfire image slowly turned into a beach date invitation with the Golden Gate Bridge and fireworks in the background. Invitation details and stickers of the presenter’s friends were pasted on this visual, which was created in pixel art style. This feature uses on-device AI and Google’s cloud-based Imagen 3 text-to-image model and requires an internet connection to work.
Apart from Pixel Studio, Google also offers other artificial intelligence capabilities
This feature joins other AI capabilities that Google has rolled out for Pixel phones. For example, Microsoft’s new Pixel Screenshots feature, which acts like the Recall feature, lets you manually take each one instead of constantly taking screenshots.
