In 2024, when sales increased by 0.5% compared to the previous year, automobile sales increased by 1.3% and reached 980,341 units. Light commercial vehicle sales decreased by 2.7% to 258,168 units.
Record sales were achieved in December. Sales increased by 7.3% compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 170,249 units. 134,811 cars were sold last month. The light commercial vehicle market increased by 9.9% in December to 35,438 units.
When sales are evaluated by body type, SUVs are the leader with a share of 56.8%. According to engine type, gasoline cars take the first place with a share of 60.1% and 588,914 units. As the share of hybrid cars approaches 20%, we see that electric cars surpass diesel cars, reaching a share of 10.1%.
The leader in automobile sales in 2024 was Renault with sales of 117,919 units, while Fiat ranked second with 87,126 units. In the list where Volkswagen is in third place, Chinese Chery managed to hold on to the top five with sales of 57,047 units despite additional taxes.

Renault ranks first in automobile sales in December with 16,218 sales. Fiat, on the other hand, fell behind Volkswagen and fell to third place. While Hyundai ranked fourth, Chinese BYD entered the list at eighth place with sales of 6,194 units.
