Vestel, which has been investing in the field of mobility in Türkiye and the European market for many years, will continue its work in this field under the Vestel Mobility organization. The company, which aims to increase its market value to over a billion dollars in the next three years, has been investing in the field of mobility, which is among the top growth areas of the future, for many years.
Vestel CEO Ergün Güler stated that electric vehicle sales will reach a 45 percent share in total vehicle sales worldwide by 2030, and that parallel to this, great opportunities will arise in automotive electronics and the need for electric charging stations will increase. Noting that there is a high growth potential for non-vehicle battery use with battery technologies developing with electric vehicles and that Vestel Mobility is focusing on areas such as AC and DC charging stations, automotive electronics and battery storage solutions to get its share of this growth, Güler said, “The world is going through geopolitical change. In parallel with this change, technological changes are taking place. As Vestel, we do not refrain from investing in new areas in parallel with these changes. We have been investing in mobility and energy storage solutions, areas where we expect exponential growth, for many years. We have been producing electric vehicle charging stations in this sector, where we have made a breakthrough with our experience in the field of electronics, since 2017 and exporting since 2018. “We have a significant market share in this field in Türkiye and Europe,” he said.
Ergün Güler emphasized that the use of electric vehicles will increase rapidly in the near future and said, “As of the end of 2023, the rate of electric vehicles in new vehicles sold is at the level of 12 percent. So, assuming that 90 million vehicles are sold annually, around 10 million of them are electric vehicles. It is predicted that this rate will increase to 40-45 percent in 2030. As a result of the large increase in the number of electric vehicles, the electric vehicle components market is expected to reach approximately 440 billion USD by 2030. According to estimates by Boston Consulting Group, the worldwide electric vehicle stock is estimated to reach 225 million units by 2030. In parallel, the number of charging sockets is expected to reach 124 million units, which means a market worth approximately 42 billion USD. On the other hand, with the effect of the average annual growth of 30 percent in the electric vehicle market, it is thought that Germany will maintain its position as the largest market in this field in Europe, and the UK will also show a significant increase. As Vestel, we are Turkey’s largest EVC manufacturer and exporter. “We export to nearly 30 countries, especially Germany, Italy, England and Spain,” he said.
Underlining that a new vehicle ecosystem has emerged in parallel with technological changes around the world. Ergun Guler, “The ecosystem of fossil fuel-powered car manufacturers and their car suppliers is being replaced by electric car manufacturers and new suppliers of this new ecosystem. This is a paradigm shift and Vestel is one of the strategic suppliers within this ecosystem. We offer a comprehensive range of automotive solutions, including R&D, design and manufacturing of in-car display solutions, electronic control units, power electronics and connected vehicle solutions. “Vestel has an important place with the products and services it offers in the cockpit electronics, electrical-electronic parts and power transmission parts of an electric vehicle,” he said.
Vestel’s in-car display solution stands out with its use of mini LED screen technology and thus offers surprisingly vivid and bright colors. Aiming to offer the best user experience to both drivers and passengers, Vestel produced a monolithic screen by combining in-car entertainment and information screens in the same cockpit.
Stating that battery and energy storage systems are another important field of activity of Vestel Mobility, Güler said, “As a company that shapes all its activities around sustainability, Vestel Mobility is advancing on solutions that will enable the world’s resources to be used more efficiently. From this perspective, the battery and energy storage systems we offer; It consists of battery solutions for the telecommunications industry and energy storage systems solutions for residential, commercial/industrial and renewable solar and wind power plants. In energy storage systems, models produced for both residential and public use are becoming increasingly important. Vestel, which introduced its first 75kwh and 300kwh products to the market in this field, will launch storage units to be used for 5mwh solar power plants in 2024. It is estimated that the global Energy Storage Systems market today constitutes a market of approximately 70-80GWh. It is predicted that this market will exceed 400GWh in 2030. “The ESS market size is expected to reach approximately 98 billion USD by 2030.” He spoke as follows.
Vestel’s energy storage designs, which offer rapid installation and integration with existing infrastructure, provide advanced lithium-ion battery technology, efficient energy storage and a reliable power source. The container type energy storage system, developed for both commercial/industrial use and renewable energy power plants, offers a versatile and reliable option to optimize energy use against irregularities in the grid and reduce costs.
Vestel effectively uses the software, hardware and design competence it has acquired over the years in the electronics industry in the field of mobility. In addition to the AC series that Vestel started to produce in 2017, offering solutions for home and small businesses, fast type charging stations offer 60kW, 120kW and 150kW, and DC, which offer stronger outputs of 180kW, 240kW, 320kW and 400kW for ultra-fast charging applications. series reduces queue times in public metered parking lots and electric fleet depots with charging times of 10 to 45 minutes.
Vestel brings its electronic technology to the field of mobility
Vestel is preparing to offer EVCs with 720kW power output in 2024 and 1MW power output in 2025. In this way, Vestel will be able to serve not only passenger models but also electric fleet vehicles used in public transportation.
Vestel, which has installed more than 180 thousand charging sockets in nearly 30 countries in Turkey and Europe with the EVCs it has produced, is currently serving Battpower, BP Pulse, EDF, E.ON, Electrip, Eneco, Exertis, Kalyon, Migros. It has many global and domestic customers such as , Shell, TOGG, Total, Viessmann, Virta, Vitol, Webasto.
