Samsung announced that it will use Galaxy AI technology in its new foldable phones, Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, which will be introduced next month. The statement on the subject was made by one of the most authorized names of the company.
In the blog post signed by Won-Joon Choi, Samsung Vice President and Head of Mobile R&D Office and Mobile eXperience Unit, the company’s plan to optimize Galaxy AI for the next generation foldable devices was confirmed. “Our foldable products are the most versatile and flexible form factor in Samsung Galaxy, and when combined with Galaxy AI, these two complementary technologies will together unlock all new possibilities,” Choi said.
Samsung wants to revolutionize mobile experiences with a “hybrid AI approach” that it believes is the “most practical and reliable solution” to meet consumers’ needs and “put Samsung ahead of others.” The hybrid approach involves providing users with “a balance between the instant responsiveness and extra privacy assurance of on-device AI and the versatility of cloud-based AI, through open collaborations with industry-leading partners, to offer a variety of functions they need in everyday life.”
Samsung Galaxy is preparing for innovation in the Live Translation feature other than AI
Soon, Samsung will expand its Live Translate AI feature to third-party messaging apps to support voice calls. This will be integrated into Samsung’s on-device AI language translation model. Thus, when using Live Translation, you will be able to use it outside your phone “without worrying about privacy issues such as sharing personal data.”
Choi expects more and more mobile AI features to make their way into the device as the power of NPUs continues to advance “at a very rapid pace.”
