Opel Mokka Hybrid is equipped with the most powerful option of the 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine, offering 136 hp power and 230 Nm torque. In addition, there is a small electric motor integrated into the 6-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine alone produces 28 hp power and 55 Nm torque. The electric motor is powered by a 48V lithium-ion battery that automatically charges during braking.
According to Opel’s statement, the mild hybrid system provides 20 percent fuel savings compared to its pure gasoline counterpart. The factory data of Mokka Hybrid was announced as 4.9 liters/100 km according to WLTP. Average carbon emissions are also 27 g/km lower than the version without hybrid support.
Although mild hybrids can only run on an electric motor, this system is not as efficient as full hybrids. While full hybrids can move up to 80 percent in the city and at high speeds with only an electric motor, Mokka Hybrid can move up to 50 percent in the city at low speeds with only an electric motor.
Opel Mokka Hybrid, like other Stellantis models, has Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes. The top speed of the model, which completes the 0-100 km/h acceleration in 9.1 seconds, is limited to 207 km/h. The compact model is no different from the standard Mokka in terms of design except for the hybrid badge on the trunk lid. Hybrid system-specific graphics and menus make a difference on the screens.
