A New Airbnb Case: Host Sent Videos of Him with Another Woman to His Customer’s Wife!

A new one in the US state of Mississippi Airbnb Another incident happened. A man named Shawn Mackey rented a three-bedroom house owned by Pamela Fohler to stay in from September 9 to 11.

The tenant, who said that he planned to stay with his three friends, told the landlord after renting the house that other friends would come for dinner. After paying $567, two different breaking house rule and when he later said that more people were coming, the host demanded an additional fee.

Fohler stated that Mackey, who rents his house, should list every guest who comes to the house and that the people who come to the house must pay an additional fee whether they stay the night or not. Mackey accepted this situation and sent the upcoming guest list to Fohler.

Additionally, Mackey told the host in an email: “Rest assured, we will take great care of your home.”

Interesting Claim About the Landlord

The rules set by the host on Airbnb prohibited the use of cigarettes and their derivatives, the arrival/stay of an unregistered guest, parking in front of the garage door, excessive noise, swimming naked and “peeing in the pool”. Additionally, the host warned the guest about off-site security cameras.

Hosted by Fohlerresponded to Mackey’s message as follows: “Hi Shawn, we will be able to host a maximum of 8 guests. This is due to restrictions in the city and the capacity of our home. We cannot triple the number of guests. There will be an additional expense for each guest, including those who do not stay the night.”

After not receiving an answer to this message for about 45 minutes, the homeowner called his customer again and said that the neighbors had complained about excessive noise and requested that they leave the house within 15 minutes.

“I’m so sorry, but you violated the no party rule, you disturbed my neighbors by swearing and shouting in the parking lot, and you have unauthorized guests. I want you to leave now. I can’t let you stay, I’m sorry.”

In response to this situation, Mackey left a negative review of the host on Airbnb and requested a refund of $502, but his request was denied. Mackey denied the allegations about various rule violations and stated that only one extra guest came.

The customer also reported that the landlord, Fohler, told him on September 17, threatening by text He said he did. The message the host allegedly sent to the customer was as follows: “Hi Shawn, I hope you are well. Should I forward the photos and videos to Teresa, or would you like to show them?”

The message didn’t end there. At the same time, Fohler said he asked Mackey’s wife, “I love your bag, where did you get it?” He sent security camera footage of Mackey with another woman along with a message saying:

When all this happened, the parties filed a lawsuit against each other. Mackey claimed that his “marriage was damaged,” and Fohler countersued, accusing him of inflicting “extreme emotional distress,” “public humiliation” and “mental anguish” on Mackey.
