We’re pretty used to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram competing with each other for short videos. However, now an unthinkable platform will also join this competition.
One of the last platforms to invest in this feature is LinkedIn. The platform is testing a new feature in short video format like YouTube Shorts and TikTok.
This Microsoft-owned company confirmed to TechCrunch last Wednesday that the short video feature was in the testing phase. Marketing Expert Austin Hull shared the following comment about the new feature:
”If LinkedIn catches up with other platforms, then it’s over.”
What Will LinkedIn Short Video Content Be Like?
Marketing Specialist Hull then shared the screen recording of the LinkedIn application on his phone. The recording showed him going to the video tab and scrolling through four short clips.
One of the videos was an entrepreneur discussing what he learned from his TV appearance, and the other was a product engineer talking about his career. The final clip showed a startup founder giving advice on LinkedIn.
While these posts were shot in the 9:16 aspect ratio used by creators for mobile scrolling content, the posts appear not to have been created specifically for the short form.
People featured in the short video feature come from existing LinkedIn posts. There is also a title above the clips. This is thought to enable LinkedIn to present the same posts in a different way.
How to Download LinkedIn Video?
Social media platform LinkedIn does not allow direct video downloading. For this reason, some social media users are wondering how to download videos from the popular service.
If the company rolls out this feature more broadly, it will have to keep up with YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, and all other popular social media platforms in terms of short video content.
