A new era in Turkey’s naval defense: Aselsan GÖKSUR

As Turkey makes breakthroughs in the defense industry, a new system that will ensure our security at sea is being unveiled: The Layered Air Defense System, carried out under the leadership of the Presidency of Defense Industries, will be the most important element of the Steel Dome at sea. ASELSAN GÖKSUR will be a critical part of protecting the Blue Homeland. He is preparing to take on the role.

GÖKSUR Close Air Defense Missile System, developed by ASELSAN together with TÜBİTAK SAGE, will take our navy’s capabilities to the next level. The system will create an effective defense shield, especially against threats flying close to sea level.

GÖKSUR, which will provide protection against a wide range of threats from anti-ship missiles to unmanned aerial vehicles, from cruise missiles to warplanes and helicopters, aims to increase the deterrence of the Turkish navy.

One of the most striking features of GÖKSUR is its 360-degree threat destruction ability… In this way, it will be able to instantly detect and neutralize threats, no matter which direction they come from. The new generation IIR (Infrared Imaging) seeker guided missile used by the system has the ability to precisely track and destroy targets.

Another important feature of the system is its multi-target intercept ability. In this way, it will be able to effectively defend against multiple threats at the same time. GÖKSUR’s ability to operate both independently and integrated with ship systems provides flexibility in different scenarios.

Thanks to the devoted work of ASELSAN and TÜBİTAK SAGE engineers, GÖKSUR is planned to be put into service of the Naval Forces Command in the near future. With GÖKSUR taking an active role in the protection of the Blue Homeland in the near future, Turkey’s deterrence and defense capability at sea will increase significantly.
