Recently, ordering applications from abroad have become very popular. A new regulation regarding these transactions has been published. According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, additional customs duties were imposed on products ordered from abroad by the decision of the President.
60 percent tax will be applied to international orders
An amendment was made to the decision on the Implementation of Certain Articles of the Customs Law No. 4458. According to the announced decision, over goods whose value does not exceed 30 euros and pharmaceutical goods whose value does not exceed 1500 euros; If it comes directly from the European Union countries, 30 percent tax will be charged, and if it comes from other countries, 60 percent tax will be charged.
The following statements appeared in the Official Gazette:
Based on the value of goods that come to a natural person via postal or fast cargo transportation and that do not have a commercial quantity or nature and whose value does not exceed 30 Euros and pharmaceutical goods whose value does not exceed 1500 Euros;
- 30 percent if it comes directly from European Union countries
- 60 percent if coming from other countries
- In case of goods included in the list numbered (IV) annexed to the Special Consumption Tax Law No. 4760 dated 6/6/2002, a single and lump sum tax of 20 percent in addition to the above rates is collected.
