The company had to postpone its five-days-a-week return to office policy, which it planned to initiate in January, for up to four months for its employees in at least seven cities. This decision; Although it is said that the decision was taken due to the lack of office space in big cities such as Austin, Dallas and Phoenix, it is claimed that the strikes across the country were the main reason for the decision.

While some Amazon employees have learned that their return to the office date has been postponed until March or April, it is said that employees in the Midtown Manhattan office in New York may not be able to find a place until May. Although Amazon officials said that the desks would be ready for the majority of employees in January, the delay decision was pleasing for many employees.

Post-pandemic remote working has become a system that Amazon employees believe increases productivity. However, CEO Andy Jassy defended the full-time office plan, stating that the company culture was eroding. Some employees think this policy could be a way for the company to reduce its workforce and lay off staff without compensation.
