AMD Ryzen 7000 “Mendocino” series Windows 10 support

AMD for laptops Ryzen 7000 “Mendocino” processors It has apparently lost official Windows 10 support. In the warnings issued for some popular models, especially Ryzen 3 7320U and Ryzen 5 7520U, it is recommended not to install Windows 10 on devices with these processors.

The latest warnings shared by AMD differ from the Ryzen 7000 mobile processors and even the Ryzen 8000 series, which continues to list compatibility with both Windows 10 and 11. Although Microsoft says that these processors are still compatible with Windows 10, AMD seems to be cutting support for the Ryzen 7000 mobile series.

Mendocino chips use the older Zen 2 architecture as opposed to the Zen 3 architecture found in the rest of the Ryzen 7000 mobile series. This is also unusual since newer processor generations generally offer broader operating system support.

Of course, the reason behind this change is currently unknown. Speculations lie either in a strategic move towards the adoption of Windows 11 or in combining Mendocino’s artificial intelligence capabilities with the old Windows 10 operating system.

Microsoft’s support period for Windows 10 ends next year. This means millions of computers are left vulnerable to vulnerabilities and cyber threats. Windows 10, which was first released in 2015, is still actively used by many people.
