AMD postponed the release date of the new Ryzen 9 9950X processor with Zen 5 architecture. The new release date of the processor, which was first planned to be released on July 31, was determined as August 15. The reason for this delay is given as some processors not having gone through quality control processes. AMD decided to extend this period in order to offer the highest quality products to its users.
It is known that AMD works meticulously in the quality control processes of processors. The company found that the first production units shipped to channel partners did not fully meet quality expectations. Therefore, it was decided to replace these units with new ones in order to offer the best experience to its users. Therefore, there was a short delay in the launch date of the processors.
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X: The symbol of powerful performance
Ryzen 9 9950X draws attention with its 16 core and 32 thread structure. AMD states that this processor is the “world’s most powerful desktop consumer processor.” This powerful hardware aims to meet users’ expectations by offering high performance and efficiency. However, since quality control processes had to be completed completely in line with this goal, the release date was postponed for a week or two.
AMD plans to launch Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X processors on August 8. No changes were made to the release date of these models. However, Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 9 9900X processors will be available on August 15. With this postponement, AMD once again demonstrated its determination to provide a high-quality experience to its users.
Jack Huynh, Senior Vice President of AMD’s Computing and Graphics Department, stated in his statement on the subject that they aim to offer the highest quality product to every Ryzen user. In this regard, he emphasized that the necessary tests will be completed for processors that have not gone through quality control processes before being put on sale. AMD reported that these tests went smoothly and the processors will not experience further delays.
AMD’s new desktop processor series also includes Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X models. These models are waiting to be offered to users. In addition to Ryzen 9 9950X, it is stated that other models will meet users’ expectations in terms of performance and efficiency.
On the other hand, Intel’s 13th and 14th generation desktop processors, especially the Core i9-13900K and i9-14900K, are at the center of criticism due to the problems experienced. Although Intel has identified the root cause of these problems, a permanent solution will have to wait until August. This once again underlines the importance AMD attaches to the quality control processes in its processors.
AMD’s laptop processors with Zen 5 architecture will also be released soon. These processors, codenamed Strix Point, were introduced as Ryzen AI 9 300 series. Another notable model in this series was the Ryzen AI 9 HX 375, equipped with a more powerful 55 TOPS NPU. AMD aims to offer high performance and efficiency to its users with these new processors.
