Android phone users iPhone and Apple‘s migration to the iOS ecosystem may be slowing down.
According to a report conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) based on the last five years of data of US consumers, the rate of iPhone buyers who are former Android users decreased from 15% in 2022 to 13% last year, but this rate was 11%. It is still higher than in 2020 and 2021.
According to the same research, although more than 90% of smartphone users tend to stick to whichever ecosystem they were first introduced to, it is not unheard of for users to switch from Android to Apple or vice versa.
In five-year data, 2022 stands out as the year with the biggest increase in the transition of Android users to iPhones. The flagships that year were the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
International Data Corporation (IDC) data also shows that the increasing popularity of iPhones worldwide in 2023 will knock Samsung from the position of the world’s largest smartphone provider, which it has held for 12 years.
