Googleat the company’s annual I/O developer conference Circle to Search feature, and it’s something that can help students better understand potentially difficult course material.
The feature will now be able to show them step-by-step instructions for “a series of physics and math word problems.” They simply activate the feature by long-pressing the home button or navigation bar and then circling the problem that baffles them; but some math problems will require users to sign up for Google’s experimental Search Labs feature.

Company, Circle to SearchHe says ‘s new capability is made possible by a new family of AI models called LearnLM, which are specifically built and fine-tuned for learning. It also plans to make tweaks to this particular capability and release an upgraded version later this year that will be able to solve more complex problems “involving symbolic formulas, diagrams, graphs, and more.”

Unpacked launched Circle to Search at its event, as this feature was initially Galaxy 24 and was available on Pixel 8 devices. It’s now out for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, Z Fold, Z Flip, Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 devices, and is likely to reach more hardware in the future.
