Another postponement for Homeworld 3

Homeworld 3, the sequel to the 20-year-old real-time strategy game Homeworld 2, has been awaited for a very long time. 9 months ago, the game’s release was postponed to February 2024. It was later announced that the game would be released on March 8. Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive announced another postponement. According to the latest statement, the game will be released on May 13, 2024.

The decision to postpone was made after users from outside the company played the game. Opening the game outside the company resulted in “additional insights and perspectives that will be incorporated to make it the best experience possible,” the statement said. It is estimated that the public demo showing the problematic camera and controls was also influential in this decision.

The game was originally planned to be released in 2022, but was delayed to 2023 and then to February 2024, then again to March 8. The game also received positive reviews, although public beta users found some elements problematic. Therefore, it can be said that May 13 seems like a realistic date.
