Apple is now adding a new one to the ad-supported plans, which have become a trend among digital broadcasting platforms lately. Apple, which hired a number of ad executives earlier in the year, is working on its upcoming ad-supported Apple TV+ continues to show signs of his plan.
According to The Telegraph, Apple held meetings with a major rating agency in the UK to discuss ad tracking options. Apple reportedly sent executives to meet with Broadcaster’s Audience Research Board (BARB) to discuss additional data collection required for advertising. BARB, a major UK ratings agency, already tracks how much time viewers spend watching Apple TV+ content. Companies such as Netflix, Disney and Amazon are already working with BARB.
Apple TV+ launched in 2019 for $4.99 per month, ad-free. However, the service has experienced price increases over time. Apple TV+ begins to be priced at $6.99 per month in late 2022 and $9.99 per month in late 2023. If Apple were to offer an ad-supported plan as rumored, it would likely be priced close to its 2019 price of $4.99.
Ad-supported streaming services have become a popular trend in recent years. Netflix ve Disney+launched ad-supported tiers of its streaming services in 2022. Amazon Prime Video It also recently became ad-supported by default, requiring Prime members to pay an extra $2.99 per month for an ad-free version of the service.
