China leads the wearable technology market
According to IDC, China has become the country with the largest share in the wrist-worn devices market. In the first three quarters of 2024, 45.8 million devices were shipped in China. While this figure represented an increase of 20.1 percent compared to the previous year, it also made a significant contribution to growth worldwide. Especially in smart watches, there was a 23.3 percent increase in the Chinese market and shipments reached 32.9 million units.
Huawei came to the top
AppleAlthough it achieved global leadership for a short time in the third quarter with its Series 10 model, it experienced a decrease in its market share due to increasing competition. Competing brands offering a wider range of prices and features have slowed Apple’s growth rate.
According to IDC Xiaomidemonstrated a successful performance in the bracelet market with its new Band 9 model. Improvements in screen brightness, battery capacity and sports-health functions have significantly increased Xiaomi’s shipments. Samsung managed to fill the gaps in the upper segment with its 7th generation products, including the new Ultra model. Additionally, the FE version offered a strong alternative in entry-level products.
