Apple Maps, which launched its beta version for the web in June, allowed Windows PC users to access Apple’s map service via the browser. The service, which initially offered a very limited experience, has been updated with an important innovation: The ‘Look Around’ feature, which allows the user to navigate the streets in 3D, can now be used in the web version.
Look Around is a feature that Apple introduced with iOS 13 in 2019 and offered as a rival to Google Street View. With this feature, users can explore their region on maps with 360-degree panoramic images and get a better idea about the environment.
‘Look Around’ is currently only available in certain regions. Countries where the feature is available include the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK, European Union countries and a few others. Users can access the ‘Look Around’ feature by clicking on the binoculars icon in Apple Maps. We regret to say that the feature is not yet available in our country.
Apple states that it plans to add new languages and more features to the web version. However, we must frankly say that the web version still lacks many features and is not yet of Google Maps quality.
