According to information shared by sources close to Apple, the company wants to produce iPhone 16 Pro and ‌iPhone 16 Pro‌ Max in India. The production of iPhone 16 Pro‌ models will be carried out by Foxconn, with which Apple has been working for a long time, at its Sriperumbudur facility in Tamil Nadu.

This move is part of Apple’s strategy to shift its supply chain away from China and increase its production capacities in India. The company reportedly aims to produce a quarter of all its iPhones in India in the next few years; This rate is currently at 14 percent.

While the Indian government is offering incentives to attract large manufacturers, Apple is investing heavily in production to meet the expected high demand for the iPhone 16 series and plans to produce 90 million units in 2024; This means a 10 percent increase compared to last year’s ‌iPhone 15‌ models.

In addition to all this, it was reported last week that Apple plans to start producing iPads in India for the first time. Similarly, the company is said to be planning to manufacture AirPods in India starting later this year.
