Artificial Intelligence Is Coming That Can Talk To Any Celebrity You Want!

Google is preparing to develop artificial intelligence-powered chatbots based on celebrities and YouTube publishers. Although this step comes at a time when start-ups such as Character.ai and companies such as Meta are launching similar products, Google’s steps in this area are not a surprise.

Google’s famous chatbots will be powered by Gemini, the company’s large family of language models, The Information reported on Monday.

Google’s AI Chatbot Based on Celebrities and Streamers

Google is trying to implement these chatbots by collaborating with publishers and celebrities. It is also working on a feature where users can create their own chatbots by defining their personality and appearance characteristics.

This is a feature that Character.ai already offers. Noam Shazeer, one of the founders of Character.ai, is a Google engineer and one of the creators of the “transformer” technology, which laid the foundation for today’s generative artificial intelligence technology.

It’s not yet clear which celebrities or influencers they will be collaborating with. Meta’s chatbots include TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, YouTube phenomenon Mr. Beast is based on personalities like Snoop Dogg, Tom Brady, and Paris Hilton.

Character.ai’s characters consist of various characters such as politicians, philosophers, fictional characters and even a talking block of cheese. Google’s project leader is Ryan Germick, who has been working on Google Doodles for many years, and he works with a team of ten people.

These chatbots from Google may just be a trial. According to the report, these bots may only appear in Google Labs, where Google offers its experimental products, and may not be rolled out for wider use.

The reasons behind this step by Google are not yet clear. Meta’s celebrity-based AI chatbots never gained the popularity expected, despite the company stuffing them into every product.

As The Information notes, its Snoop Dogg-based chatbot has just 15,000 followers on Instagram, while the human rapper has 87.5 million followers.

This initiative raises important questions about Google’s AI strategy and how it will affect user experience. As the company clarifies the details about these new chatbots, it is eagerly awaited to see how the competition in this field will take shape.
