Google Chrome has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) supported system that will protect its users against fake and fraudulent websites. The feature will identify fake sites, warn users and increase internet security. The update will be available in the next version of Chrome. Details are in our news…
In fact, Chrome’s new security feature will analyze visited websites using large language models (LLM). The new system will evaluate elements such as the design, content and purpose of the page to determine whether a site is real or fake. Additionally, scam sites imitating real brands will be identified and malicious attempts to steal users’ data or money will be quickly thwarted.
The feature will notify the user with a “red flag” by displaying a warning screen in the browser. Chrome also plans to introduce a dedicated security tab for e-commerce sites. By adding an icon next to the “Site Information” button in the address bar, a summary evaluating the reliability of that site will be presented. This summary will be based on user reviews from independent review sites (such as Trustpilot, ScamAdviser). Meanwhile, the new feature will run in the background without negatively affecting the user experience. Here are the features to be added:
The feature is currently being tested for Chrome Canary (experimental version) users. Based on user feedback, we expect it to be included in the full release in the first quarter of 2025. What do you think about this security feature? You can share your opinions in the comments section below…
