The X5 SDrive40i and X5 XDrive40i produced between August 1, 2018 – May 31, 2020, X6 SDrive40i and X6 XDrive40i produced between 9 April 2019 – 28 May 2020, X7 XDrive40i, 740i, 740xi, 840ii The problem, which covers the and 840xi models, will end with the recall of a total of 105 thousand 588 vehicles.

The real source of the problem appears to be the starter motor. Due to a manufacturing error, oil leakage may occur in some parts of the engine over time. Considering that the engine does not start, many users try to start their vehicles with long cranking attempts. This may cause the instant starter motor to overload. And this process results in fire.
