HMD company, also known as the current owner of the Nokia brand, is preparing to come up with a new smartphone. Social media user named “smashx_60” revealed details about a new intermediate model of the HMD brand with the code “Orka”.
Based on the leak, HMD Orka will adopt a vibrant design and promises to bring interesting features. This leak revealed the first images of the phone and showed us its technical details, including a 50-megapixel front camera.
What will HMD Orka offer?
HMD’s new device will have a more traditional format compared to the HMD Skyline, another model the company recently launched. In the leaked images, colors such as blue, green and purple are seen on the back. This gives the device a unique appearance.
The HMD Orka model brings a 108-megapixel main sensor on the back. This technical detail is also confirmed by the text on the camera module. The secondary sensor must be ultra-wide or macro.
For selfies and video calls, the device will have a 50-megapixel front camera and f/2.0 aperture that will provide clear and vibrant photos. It is worth remembering that HMD Skyline also has a front sensor with the same resolution.
HMD Orka specifications include a 6.78-inch IPS screen with Full HD + resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. This screen marks a slight downgrade compared to the Skyline’s 6.55-inch OLED screen.
The highly anticipated new device should have a Qualcomm chipset with 5G connectivity and 8 GB RAM. The battery capacity of the model has not been announced yet. But sources talk about 33W charging via USB-C.
HMD Global’s strategy with Orka seems to be price-performance focused. Compared to the HMD Skyline, the model replaces the OLED screen with IPS and can be cheaper because it does not have a telephoto sensor.
