Chinese automotive giant BYD announced today that it has officially established a company to start producing electric vehicles in Turkey with an investment of $1 billion.
BYD, which has also appointed its first manager, continues its work at full speed to produce electric cars in Manisa.
Both Electric Cars and Vehicle Parts Will Be Produced
BYD, which announced its investment plan in Turkey at the event held in our country recently, announced that it would establish its factory in Manisa Organized Industrial Zone. The Chinese company, which announced that it will produce electric cars in our country with an investment of approximately 36 million lira, officially established its company in our country today.
In the factory to be established in Manisa Organized Industrial Zone, both electric vehicles and vehicle parts will be produced. The company will also carry out its export and R&D activities through this facility.
Shu Youxing, responsible for European vehicle sales, was appointed as the head of the company, which will operate under the name BYD Turkey Automotive. Youxing, a chemical engineer, has been working at BYD since 1999. Stella Li, one of BYD’s most senior executives, was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company’s Türkiye operations.
