Qualcomm is taking an important step towards expanding the Snapdragon X processor family. The company aims to bring the Snapdragon X series, which we have previously seen in upper segment devices, to wider audiences with an entry-level processor. It was stated that Windows computers equipped with the new processor will cost around $ 600.
Snapdragon X processors, which were previously developed as a rival to Apple’s M series chips and positioned in the high price segment, attracted attention with their performance and energy efficiency. However, the fact that laptops with these processors started at high prices such as $ 1200 prevented the masses from benefiting from this technology.
Although the price range was reduced slightly with the subsequent Plus versions, the processors are still far from accessible. Qualcomm, on the other hand, plans to bring the advantages of the Snapdragon X family to more affordable Windows computers with the new entry-level processor.
The new processor will also include the NPU, which is found in upper segment models and contributes to performance along with battery life. This move seems to intensify competition, especially in the Windows computer market, which Intel has dominated for a long time.
Qualcomm aims to attract more users with the power efficiency and high performance offered by Snapdragon X processors. Although the details of the new entry-level processor have not been announced yet, it was stated that the official introduction could be made at CES 2025, which will be held in January.
