Facebookoffering income generation programs with a more modern structure Generating Revenue from Facebook Content unites at its centre. Through this hub, creators will continue to be rewarded for Reels, longer videos, photos and text posts.
With this change, it is now easier to pursue three different revenue generation opportunities: in-stream ads, Reels ads and performance bonuses. In this case, we can say that more content creators on Facebook will increase their work on the platform.
This week, Facebook will invite 1 million creators who already monetize Facebook to join the beta version of its Content Monetization hub. Content producers will be able to join the center next year through an open registration system.
Facebook’s prominent revenue generation data
According to the information shared by Meta; content creators generated over $2 billion in revenue on Facebook this year. During this time, payments for Reels and other short videos increased by more than 80 percent. Facebook, which started offering revenue generation opportunities in 2017, has paid more than 4 million content creators since then.
On the other hand, when we compare it with YouTube, which has paid 70 billion dollars to content creators in the last three years through its partner program; Facebook’s statistics are not very eye-catching. However, Meta’s programs such as performance bonuses caused serious disappointment among creators. A few years ago, when Reels was a new product, content creators could earn thousands of dollars a month by reaching certain view count targets. Now these payments have decreased significantly. Still, as the company prioritizes Threads, it has offered financial incentives to creators to publish there. It is also worth noting that the bonus program for Facebook is currently open to invitees only.
Meta may be trying to revitalize the platform with this change to monetization on Facebook. The platform, which is still actively used in the USA, is not the first choice of users in some countries, including Türkiye.
