Confirming the cyber attack, BtcTurk stated that there is no problem with cold wallets and user assets will not be affected by these losses. The company also underlined that it has contacted official authorities.
“Our teams have determined that there was a cyber attack that caused uncontrolled withdrawals from our platform on June 22, 2024. Some of the balances in the hot wallets of only 10 cryptocurrencies were affected by the cyber attack in question, and our cold wallets, where the majority of the assets are kept, are safe. BtcTurk’s Its financial strength is well above the amounts affected by this attack, and user assets will not be affected by these losses.
At the same time, official authorities were contacted. “As a precaution, cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals have been stopped and will be made available for use as soon as our work is completed.”
Stating that Turkish Lira deposit and withdrawal transactions have been made available in the past few minutes without any problems, BtcTurk stated that crypto money deposit and withdrawal transactions will be available within approximately 6 hours.
