Data center provider Digital Edge receives $1.6 billion investment

Singapore-based data center provider Digital Edge to meet growing demands for cloud and artificial intelligence services over $1.6 billion announced that it received an investment. The company obtained this financing through equity investments and debt financing.

According to Digital Edge’s statement, $640 million of the financing consists of equity investments from existing and new investors, and $1 billion consists of debt financing.

Founded in 2020, Digital Edge today operates or is building 21 data centers across Asia, including Japan, South Korea, India, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. While the company currently has a service capacity of 500 megawatts, another 300 megawatt capacity is planned for future projects.

Digital Edge is one of the portfolio companies of Stonepeak, a New York-based investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real asset investments. Stonepeak has approximately $70 billion worth of assets under management.

This new investment aims to strengthen the company in the Asian market and contribute to the digital transformation process in the region.
