Samsung recently introduced the Galaxy A55 to users with the Exynos 1480 processor, but did not share the details of this processor. The company finally made the expected announcement about the 4 nm Exynos 1480.
In Exynos 1480, the Xclipse 530 GPU undertakes the graphics load. This GPU is built on AMD RDNA architecture. Exynos 1480 is the first mid-segment processor to offer this advanced technology.
According to the information provided by Samsung, the Exynos 1480 processor is 53 percent faster than the Exynos 1380 in terms of GPU performance. Variable Rate Shading (VRS) and Super Resolution technologies also play an important role in this performance increase.
Samsung Exynos 1480 comes with a different processor architecture than its predecessor
Exynos 1480 has a different CPU architecture compared to its predecessor. Two 2.75 GHz Cortex-A78 and six 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores await users in the processor. Another area where progress has been made is connections. Bringing higher speeds on the 5G side, Exynos 1480 also offers Wi-Fi 6E support.
Currently, Exynos 1480 is only available on the Galaxy A55. Samsung did not provide information about which other devices will carry this processor and when these devices will be released.
