DJI Avata 2 drone has officially appeared. Avata 2 is a rare example because it is cheaper but more advanced than its predecessor. The new drone offers an improved image quality compared to its predecessor with its super wide-angle 12 megapixel camera. Thanks to the expanded dynamic range and the sensor that receives more light, clearer frames can be captured in dark environments.
HDR video recording can be done at 4K 60 fps with the camera with a 155-degree viewing angle. Slow motion video recording with 2.7K 120 fps resolution is also among the capabilities of Avata 2.
While the gimbal tilt was increased from negative 85 degrees to 80 degrees, the maximum flight time increased to 23 minutes. PD fast charging support is also among the features of Avata 2. The new “Bi-Way Charging Hub” features a power accumulation function that allows remaining power to be transferred from multiple batteries to the one with the highest charge level to quickly deliver more energy at critical moments.
The maximum video transmission distance increased from 10 kilometers to 13 kilometers. Latency in 1080p 100 fps videos has been reduced to 24 ms. Compared to its predecessor, the drone is 28 grams lighter, 16 mm shorter and 32 mm wider, and becomes more balanced.
With the new DJI Googles 3, users can simultaneously see images in the drone’s field of view. With Googles 3, the drone’s images can be transferred to the DJI Fly application and transmitted to another device 5 meters away.
The cable can also be used to share the images with people around or to transfer the live broadcast to the screen or another Googles 3. Googles 3, which comes with a built-in battery, has GPS and a 700 nit dual micro OLED screen with 1080p resolution. A transition mode that makes it possible to look around during the flight also awaits users.
How much should you pay for DJI Avata 2?
90 minutes of 1080p 60 fps video can be recorded in Avata 2’s 64 GB storage space. Users can transfer the images they record to their smartphones via Wi-Fi.
DJI Avata 2 will be sold alongside Googles 3 and RC Motion 3 for $999. This package contains a single battery. With two extra batteries, a Two-Way Charging Hub and a carrying case, the price goes up to $1199. You have to pay $199 for the DJI FPV Remote Control and $79 for the Avata 2 ND Filters set. It is enough to pay $499 just for Avata 2.
