The latest situation has emerged in the electric car market, which has grown considerably in the last few years. A research company revealed the electric car sales rates in July. Although things seem to be going well in the market, the decline continues in Europe.
Electric car sales increased by 21 percent! However, in Europe the situation is exactly the opposite!
Electric cars have been mentioned recently due to the decline in sales. In general, falling sales in many regions except China are actually due to charging and range problems. The leaks coming today also relatively confirm this situation. Europe is once again remembered for its declining rates. However, there is an increase in July compared to last year.
According to data released by a research company, a total of 1 million 400 thousand full electric and plug-in hybrids were sold worldwide last month. A large portion of these, 880 thousand, were sold in China. And China recorded a significant increase of 31 percent compared to last year. The increase on the plug-in hybrid side was recorded as 70 percent.
Sales achieved not only in China but also in the USA and Canada in July 2024 are 7.1 percent higher than in July 2023. In Europe, the situation is exactly the opposite. The decrease compared to last year is 7.8 percent. In Germany, which has been known for low electric car sales for a while, the decrease is around 12 percent.
BYD, China’s shining star, reported a 13 percent increase for fully electric models. BYD, which achieved a 44 percent increase in plug-in hybrid sales, plays a major role in China’s increasing electric car sales rates.
Although there is an increase throughout the world, especially in July, China undertakes a large part of this work. Europe, on the other hand, still comes to the fore with low sales rates. It turns out that the electric car market is quite complicated. How long do you think this situation will continue? Will electric cars be adopted? We welcome your ideas in the comments.
