After his firing, Rooney took the situation to court with his evidence, and the case, which lasted 2 years, was officially concluded recently. The Irish Labor Relations Commission (WRC) ruled that the former senior executive of Twitter was unfairly dismissed for refusing to click the ‘Yes’ button on Musk’s email, and awarded X a record 550,000 compensation to former employee Gary Rooney. He ordered him to pay in euros.
WRC referee Michael MacNamee stated the following in his decision:
“No employee, when faced with such a situation, can be blamed for refusing to give open-ended, unconditional approval to any of these proposals.”
