Entrepreneurship World Cup Türkiye Final was held! Special interview with Nevzat Aydin

The Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) Turkey Final, which supports the bright startups of the future and aims to determine the startups that will win the 1 million dollar prize on a global scale, was held with great enthusiasm on August 13, 2024.

The event, organized by GEN Turkey in cooperation with the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and Monsha’at, witnessed the fierce competition of 8 finalists selected among more than 300 entrepreneurs from all over Turkey.

In the final, the Laska team, which attracted attention with its environmentally friendly and sustainable production approaches, won first place. Laska, which produces alternative products to fossil fuels such as carbon black and renewable fuel by bringing waste tires into the economy, contributes to 9 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations with the high technology it has developed.

With this great success, the Laska team won a cash prize of 300 thousand TL, as well as the right to participate in the Global Final to be held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, and a free Kolektif House membership for one year. The second prize went to the Move On team, which develops artificial intelligence-based technologies for more sustainable and traceable agriculture.

Move On, which aims to shape the agriculture of the future with its team of farmers and engineers, received a free one-year Kolektif House membership and the right to participate in the last 250 in the global section of EWC. EWC Turkey Final served not only as a competition but also as a platform that brought together important actors of the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The pleasant conversation and interview between ShiftDelete.Net founder Hakkı Alkan and Yemeksepeti founder and famous entrepreneur and investor Nevzat Aydın was one of the highlights of the event.

Emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation for the Turkish economy, GEN Turkey and Habitat Association stated that they will continue their work to support and strengthen young people and entrepreneurs. While the EWC Turkey Final once again revealed Turkey’s entrepreneurial potential, it laid the foundations for successful ventures of the future.

GEN Turkey works to promote entrepreneurship as a part of the Global Entrepreneurship Network, which is active in 200 countries. Founded in 1997, Habitat Association is a non-governmental organization working in the field of sustainable development. Both institutions play important roles in the development and strengthening of Turkey’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.
