Find My Device network for Android is rolling out

The Find My Device network features Google Play Services to help users find lost items, including phones and smartwatches, as well as trackers, headphones and more Leveraging billions of Android devices.

How does the new Find My Device network work?

If the Android devices of other people in the Find My Device network are within Bluetooth range, the location of the lost device can be detected. This information is also shown to you on the map in the relevant interface. Considering that there are billions of Android devices worldwide, it will be possible to find a lost or stolen device under almost any condition. It’s a similar idea to what Apple’s Find My network already does, and Google notes that, like Apple’s network, location information is encrypted, meaning no one but you can tell where your tracked items are.
