According to Taylor Soper from Geekwire, Adept co-founders David Luan, Augustus Odena, Maxwell Nye, Erich Elsen and Kelsey Szot were acquired by Amazon.
Adept will continue its work after this process, and head of engineering Zach Brock will assume the role of CEO. In a post published on Adept’s official blog, it was stated that the products will continue to be supported by existing cutting-edge AI models and proprietary infrastructure.
The deal is as valuable to Adept as it is to Amazon. With this move, Amazon will gain valuable talent and technology that will support its productive artificial intelligence goals.

Adept was founded two years ago with the vision of creating an artificial intelligence model that can operate on software tools using natural language. Adept raised over $415 million in capital from backers like NVIDIA, Atlassian, and Workday and reached a valuation of nearly $1 billion, but it has struggled with the departure of its co-founders and difficulties in product launches.
