MÜSİAD Gold Çark Short Film Festival (MAFF), organized by the Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) for the first time this year, will meet cinema lovers in Istanbul between 9-12 April 2025. The festival, which will take place at the Atatürk Cultural Center, will give awards in 15 different categories and will provide significant support to the short film industry with a prize pool exceeding 500.000 TL.
The festival will bring together shorter filmmakers from Türkiye and international fields. Atatürk Cultural Center will be completed with the film screenings to be held at Yeşilçam Cinema and the award ceremony to be held in AKM Theater Hall. The best short films will be evaluated by the jury and the awards will find their owners.
MAFF includes categories such as Best National Short Film, Best International Short Film, Best Student Film, Best Artificial Intelligence Film, Best Documentary. In addition, the best director, the best actor, the best actress, the best original music, the best cinematographer, the best script and the best fiction awards will be given. The MUSIAD Special Award will be presented to the veteran names that contribute to the cinema sector.
One of the remarkable innovations of the festival will be the best artificial intelligence film award that emphasizes the role of artificial intelligence in the art of cinema. MAFF’s jury consists of leading names in the cinema world. Producer Cemil Yavuz is the chairman of the jury, while Birol Güven, General Manager of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is in the jury team of artificial intelligence films.
In addition to film screenings during the festival, panels, interviews and workshops will be organized by sector professionals. These activities, which will be held with the participation of names from the world of cinema, will present new perspectives on short film art.
Sadettin Budak, President of MÜSİAD Printing, Publication and Media Sector Board and Festival, stated that the festival aims to make long -term contributions to the cinema sector. Maff is planned to be a fund that will support the film industry with feature film projects by going beyond being a competition platform for short films.
Festival Director Kerem Kurtuluş stressed that short film art occupies an important place in the history of cinema and that MAFF will emphasize creative stories in this field.
