According to a new research conducted by an energy analysis company; Google and Microsoft broke records worldwide, leaving many countries behind. The figure of 24 TWh spent by companies; It surpasses the electricity consumption of countries such as Azerbaijan, Iceland, Ghana and Tunisia.
The study highlights the energy Google and Microsoft need to power their data centers and services. The electricity use of these companies is also equal to the energy consumption of Azerbaijan, where more than 10 million people live.
Of course, we should not ignore the money earned by technology giants. We know that Google had revenue of $305.6 billion last year and Microsoft had revenue of $211.9 billion. This leaves the economic record of many countries behind.
Additionally, other companies such as Apple, Meta and Tesla also have huge data centers. The electricity use of these US companies affects climate change worldwide.
On the other hand, Google is preparing to make an important move in the field of cloud security. According to The Wall Street Journal’s report, the company has opened its wallet for Wiz, a cybersecurity expert on cloud storage.
