Google Drive adds a very useful feature to its application for those who store their videos in the cloud. The automatic subtitle feature that we have seen on Google’s YouTube so far is coming to Drive. Drive will now automatically add subtitles to the videos you upload.
Google Drive adds subtitles to videos with speech recognition technology!
Google is bringing a new update to its cloud storage service Drive. Google, which has made the automatic subtitle feature available for Drive users, will convert the sound coming from the video into text with speech recognition technology. Drive will then automatically add the text to the necessary parts of the video and will be able to subtitle your video in seconds. So how will this happen?
For example, you uploaded a video to Drive. Once you find the video in Drive, you need to right-click on the video and click on “Manage subtitle tracks”. You can then subtitle your video by clicking the “Create automatic subtitles” option. This process works for standard Google Drive accounts and provides a little more convenience for Workspace users. Unless Workspace users disable subtitles, automatic subtitles are added to all uploaded videos.
Although it may take some time for the subtitles to be processed, when they are finalized, your video comes to life in a YouTube-like player for you to watch. Google Drive, which currently only offers English subtitle support, will soon add many language options. How do you like the new feature of Google Drive? How useful will this feature be to you? You can express your opinions in the comments.
