While Live Events is a useful feature on Apple’s newest iPhones, it’s underutilized, and Google has been working on adding support for Live Events in Maps since early 2023.
Recently, it was revealed that Google was testing Live Events support by turning these browsable instructions on and off for some users.
Where Will Google Live Events Be Used?
Over the last two or three months, some lucky users have noticed Live Events in Google Maps appearing on their iPhones when getting directions, and they say the feature works well when using public transportation or regular in-car navigation.
The testing that Google conducted appears to be quite limited in number, as many users who saw the test reported that it stopped working after a few hours.
It is not yet clear when Google will fully announce Live Events support in Maps for iPhone, which is delayed.
