Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has achieved a significant success in the field of aviation with the jet training aircraft Hürjet, developed with national resources. Having successfully completed its 100th test flight, Hürjet will make a significant contribution to the air power of the Turkish Armed Forces. This aircraft, which stands out with its advanced avionics systems and superior performance features, can be used in light attack and close air support missions, as well as meeting pilot training needs.
Hürjet completed its 100th flight!
Meeting the skies on April 25, 2023, Hürjet successfully completed various maneuver tests by staying in the air for 1 hour and 27 minutes on its 100th flight. Hürjet, which reached a speed of 0.9 Mach and an altitude of 30 thousand feet during the flight, has left behind a total of 118 hours of flight time to date. These test flights are carefully planned to evaluate the aircraft’s performance, reliability and flight control systems, as well as to determine its limits.
The Hürjet project, which was launched in 2017 under the coordination of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) to meet the needs of the Air Forces Command, is carried out with the principles of locality and nationality.
Many critical systems and components of the aircraft, whose entire design and production processes are carried out by TAI, are produced by domestic companies. In this way, Türkiye reduces its foreign dependency in the field of aviation and increases its technological know-how.
Hürjet, which has attracted great attention in the international arena, may also be preferred by the Spanish Air Force. Spain, which has decided to retire the F-5 aircraft in its fleet, is considering ordering 24 HÜRJETs. Within the scope of this agreement, it will supply 6 or 10 A400M transport aircraft to Turkey.
