Following this unfortunate situation, HMD announced that the new name of its first smartphones in India will be announced in a few days. However, it is also stated that the name change process may slightly delay the launch of the phone.

HMD’s process of choosing the Arrow name took place through a competition held among users. It was announced that prizes would be given to users who submitted winning name suggestions in the competition held on the X platform. The company confirmed that contest entries are still valid and the five winners will receive their prizes.

According to rumors, HMD’s new phone may be a rebranded version of the existing HMD Pulse model. If we look at the features of the Pulse model, the 6.65 inch LCD screen with 720p+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, Unisoc T606 processor and 4GB or 6GB RAM options stand out. 64GB storage can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

Camera features include 13MP main sensor, autofocus and dual LED flash. It also has a depth sensor. The front camera is 8MP and is placed in a small hole on the screen. The phone comes with a 5,000mAh battery capacity and comes out of the box with Android 14 operating system. HMD Global has promised two years of operating system updates and three years of security patches for the Pulse model.

We may have to wait a little longer for HMD Global’s first phone in India, but if the rebranding theory proves true, the key features of the phone may remain consistent with the HMD Pulse.
