As you know, Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Its return was officially announced at the Marvel Studios Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con. However, this time he will appear not as Tony Stark/Iron Man, but as Victor von Doom, aka Doctor Doom. So how much money will Robert Downey Jr. get for his return to the Marvel universe?
It has been revealed how much money Robert Downey Jr. will receive from his return to Marvel: $80 million!
Robert Downey Jr.’s return to Marvel will be crowned with a huge financial gain. Downey for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars more than $80 million will receive a fee. These films will also receive additional incentives when they reach certain box office targets.
Downey’s deal also includes extras like private jet access, a private security team and a private trailer camp. His new role and achievements seem to overshadow Downey’s achievements in his previous MCU career.
Anthony and Joe Russo, who directed the films Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, will also make great profits from these projects. Two brothers for each movie will receive 40 million dollars and they will earn additional incentives when films reach box office revenues of $750 million and $1 billion. However, under this deal, the Russo brothers will not receive any back-end percentage.
Shooting on the new Avengers movies will begin in London in the second quarter of 2025. Avengers: Doomsday will be in theaters on May 1, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
