Huawei nova 13 series has been officially introduced and Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 joins two selfie-loving phones.
Huawei nova 13 and 13 Pro are inspired by plaid and use a unique nano-level pattern to create the diagonal striped look. Loden Green is the main color and is available in Black and White.
Huawei nova 13 Pro has a 6.78-inch LTPO panel with variable refresh and Always-On Display (AOD) mode. The phone is IP65 certified, so it can withstand accidental encounters with water, and the Splash Touch feature ensures the touchscreen remains usable in the rain.
The Pro model has not one but two telephoto cameras, a 12MP 69mm camera on the back and an 8MP 52mm camera on the front. This provides extra flexibility when shooting portraits (self-portraits or otherwise). The 50MP main camera on the back has an adjustable aperture (f/1.4 to f/4.0) that allows it to perform better in different lighting conditions and has OIS to help in the dark.
The standard Huawei nova 13 has a simpler 50 MP camera on the back with a fixed f/1.9 aperture and no OIS. Both phones use the same 8 MP ultra-wide camera.
Both phones have 60 MP ultra-wide selfie cameras (17 mm, 100°) for group selfies. The smile changing feature with artificial intelligence appears for the first time with the Nova 13 series; It works on individuals and groups, automatically scanning and selecting the best expression for each person.
Both phones are equipped with 5000mAh batteries and support 100W fast charging. The Pro is slightly faster and can charge its battery to 50% in 9 minutes.
Huawei nova 13 comes in Black, White and Green versions in a single 12/256 GB version. nova 13 Pro has the same three color options but offers 512 GB storage as well as 12 GB RAM.
Huawei is introducing a new audio brand called Huawei Sound, and it’s starting with the FreeBuds Pro 4 with the gold “Huawei Sound” logo on it.
The headphones have a dual-driver design with an 11 mm quad-magnet dynamic driver. It can stream lossless audio at up to 2.3 Mbps (24 bit, 48 kHz), but this depends on phone compatibility (older models like the Pura 70 Pro drop to 1.5 Mbps, while other phones drop to 990 Kbps).
For passive noise isolation, Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 comes with shape memory foam ear tips. For phone calls, the headphones combine four microphones (three traditional microphones and one bone conduction microphone) and AI noise reduction, providing clear audio even in harsh environments. Huawei claims it can eliminate up to 100dB of noise (think nightclub sound levels) or strong winds of up to 10m/s.
The headphones have dual device connectivity, so they can be paired with your phone and laptop and automatically switch when needed. They also have a wear-sensing feature to pause when you remove them. However, you may not need to do this, as Head Gesture Controls allow you to control them with a simple head movement.
Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 is available in Black, White and Green colors.
