Huawei Won’t Produce Compact Phones Anytime Soon

While the tech world is witnessing a resurgence of compact flagship smartphones this year, Huawei seems to be taking a different approach. Popular source Digital Chat Station has revealed that the Chinese tech giant currently has no plans for a 6.3-inch compact device. Instead, Huawei is preparing to launch two new series with ultra-narrow bezels and larger displays next year.

According to the source, the upcoming Mate 70 series will likely feature impressively thin bezels and a 6.7-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution. In parallel, the Pura 80 series is expected to feature a 6.76/6.78-inch quad curved display with narrow bezels and 1.5K resolution.

Despite not being a dedicated compact flagship, the current Huawei Pura 70 with its 6.6-inch display offers a relatively compact and refined user experience. By optimizing the design and software, Huawei could potentially position the standard version of the Pura 80 series as a compact flagship alternative.
