Intel will continue to sell problematic processors
Intel The problems experienced by processors actually started with what we can call sporadic reports in late 2022. In 2023, when disturbing problems emerged in games such as Callisto Protocol and Hogwarts Legacy, users began to express their problems on the internet.
For the problem, which is mostly seen in processors above 65W, it was recommended to reduce the voltage in early 2024, and many motherboard manufacturers offered a profile update that reduces power consumption. However, this also affected performance. When the issue was brought up on major broadcast platforms, Intel had to take action.
In the statement, it was stated that a micro patch will be released to solve the voltage problem and the patch will be distributed to all motherboard partners in mid-August. It is not known whether this will completely solve the problem.
Since Intel believes that it will solve the problem with a software focus, it states that there will be no product recalls or products will not be withdrawn from sales channels at this time. There was no explanation regarding the extension of the warranty of the problematic products or what proof process the customers would follow for returns.
