iOS/iPadOS 18 Beta 4 update re-released: Version number increased to 22A5316k
If you are a registered developer, open the “Settings” app, go to the “Software Update” section and click on “Beta Updates”. Then select iOS 18 / iPadOS 18 developer beta settings. Of course, you need to have an Apple ID linked to your developer account to perform this action.
What’s new with the iOS / iPadOS 18 beta 4 update:
CarPlay wallpapers: Apple added two types of wallpapers for CarPlay: light and dark mode, similar to iPhone.
Settings: Accessing iCloud settings is now much easier. You will find the iCloud option along with the App Store, Game Center and Wallet.
Camera control: In the camera settings, there is a new “Control Menu” under “Maintain Settings”. This feature remembers previous camera tools when using the camera app.
Hidden folder: The hidden folder design in the application library has changed. An empty app box now appears instead of the eye icon, making it less noticeable.
Dark/light mode icon: When you enable the “Automatic” setting, the icons sync with the iPhone’s system color settings. So, are you running in dark mode? Icons are also in dark mode.
Share symbol: The icon of the share application has been renewed. The lines are smoother and there is no longer a white mist at the bottom of the icon.
iPhone mirroring: This feature is actually for macOS 15 Sequoia but it’s still worth mentioning. When iPhone mirroring is used in macOS Sequoia Beta 4, you can change the size of the iPhone window on the Mac screen.
Control center: A new Bluetooth toggle button has been added to the control center, but it’s not yet usable. Silent mode/silent toggle and accessibility eye mirroring options have also been added. By the way, the iOS 18 Beta 4 update has removed the “Open Music Control Center” option.
AssistiveTouch: Text to Siri and Apple Watch mirroring options have been added to AssistiveTouch.
Apple Intelligence: Apple has referred to this feature many times in codes indicating that more Apple Intelligence features will come. So, smarter features await us in the future.
