Currently, the iPhone 16 Pro uses LTPO2 technology, which is the same as the Apple Watch Series 9. However, according to the latest information, this situation seems to change in the next generation iPhones.
With this remarkable move, Apple will be able to make LTPO3 40 percent brighter with a higher refresh rate, consuming less energy even in standby mode.
The reason for this notable improvement will be that the LTPO3 uses a newer low-temperature polycrystalline silicon oxide (LTPS) TFT panel, which consumes less power when the refresh rate is low.
Moreover, this new version increases the light intensity of the screen by allowing each pixel to be optimized to emit light from wider angles.
Therefore, since Apple has not yet released the iPhone 17 Pro with LTPO2 screen, it seems possible that the iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 19 Pro will have this new technology.
