Xiaomi SU8 claims denied
Xiaomi PR Manager Wang Hua denied rumors of the SU8’s imminent launch. Allegations that emerged last month; It was revealed that Xiaomi was working on a new SUV model. In fact, images claiming that SU8 would be introduced were published on July 16.
In his statement, Wang stated that there were no plans for the SU8 launch and that the posters were fake. However, this did not stop speculation about Xiaomi’s road map. Rumors still persist that the company is developing an SUV codenamed MX11. Even spy images of the vehicle were leaked.
MX11, which has a similar design to SU7; It looks like it will have a thin hood and flashy headlights. Also noteworthy is a pebble-shaped laser radar mounted on the ceiling. The MX11 features side-mounted cameras and yellow brake calipers. The rims look like multi-spoke alloy.
On the other hand, Xiaomi used BYD’s blade batteries in its first models. The new SU7 models will also benefit from CATL’s battery technology. In the second model, more emphasis will be placed on CATL batteries.
According to industry reports, this SUV will be Xiaomi’s second electric vehicle. However, its official launch is thought to be more than a year away.
